RIGHTS & PERMISSIONS
Copyright & Use
Public access to the family archive does not grant permission to reuse copyright-protected material.

Copyright notice
Copyright in protected material belongs to its respective rights holders. All rights are reserved except where applicable law or an existing license permits use.
Except as permitted by law or an applicable license, prior written permission from the relevant rights holder is required to reproduce, republish, distribute, adapt, sell, or otherwise reuse copyright-protected text, photographs, illustrations, or other material presented in this archive.
Viewing and sharing links
You may browse the public pages and share links to them. The ability to view, save, or download an item does not itself provide permission to republish it or use it elsewhere. An approved archive account does not grant additional reuse rights.
Historical facts, public-domain material, and legal exceptions
This policy does not claim copyright in historical facts, names, dates, family relationships, or material in the public domain. It does not restrict fair use or other uses permitted by applicable law.
Any copyright in original writing or a protectable selection or arrangement of material does not extend to the underlying facts or public-domain records.
Third-party records and photographs
The archive includes material from relatives, photographers, repositories, and other sources. Those materials remain subject to their respective rights holders' rights and any applicable license. The archive does not claim ownership of third-party material merely because it appears here.
Consult each item's source notes and the originating repository for rights information. A citation, a family contribution, or public availability is not proof of permission to reuse an item. Where ownership or licensing is not documented, its status remains unconfirmed.
This policy does not replace or revoke an existing license, including an applicable open-source software license.
Request permission
Contact Joe Stuart at josephstuart@stuartcreation.com. Include:
- The page link, evidence ID, or title of the material.
- What you want to reproduce or use, and where it will appear.
- Whether the intended use is personal, educational, nonprofit, or commercial.
Joe can address requests for material he controls and help identify another rights holder when that information is available. Permission for third-party material must come from the relevant rights holder. Sending a request, receiving no response, or obtaining an archive account is not permission.
Rights concerns and corrections
If you believe material is incorrectly credited or used without appropriate rights, contact Joe Stuart with the item link, your relationship to the work, and supporting information so the item can be reviewed.
